The way I was looking at it was that the freedom to say anything remained despite the place disappearing. This because the responsibility lies now with the person for what he or she says. But of course if the responsibility lies with the person then they are not free to say anything they wish, they are restrained by being held accountable for it. 

They must self-censor, so to speak, whereas previously- utterances were care-free as long as they were uttered at the gathering place. The freedom is gone. Have I understood you correctly?</description>

		<description>The question that comes out of this myth for me is - If you have the freedom to say anything you want how do you know that? The myth tells us that the &#039;gathering place&#039; was a site where people were free to say anything they wanted. Despite this, the child, the woman, and the man requested the &#039;right&#039; to say anything they wanted. The child was scolded, the woman banished and you suggest the man received no punishment.  I think that perhaps the man&#039;s punishment was the worst of all for everyone  involved because in not recognizing a right , the inference is the &#039;right&#039; seizes to exist.</description>
