Prepared Modules

Political Economy Of China

This module is suitable for all undergraduate courses with a focus or elective on contemporary China. Module content addresses the development towards the current figuration of Chinese politics and introduces neo-marxist and new institutionalist perspectives. Specific topics include understanding the Communist Party of China, the Chinese Political Apparatus, Political Participation in China, the historical development and current state of China’s Socialist Market Economy

Media in China & Social Change

This module is suitable for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses with a focus or elective on contemporary China. Module content examines the rapidly changing mediascape in China. Theoretical issues such as technological libertarianism are introduced and a range of up-to-date case studies examined to engage students with the current pulse of the Chinese media world.

Chinese Politics

This module is suitable for undergraduate  courses with a focus or elective on contemporary China. Module content examines the political environment in China since the rise to power of the Communist Party. Theoretical issues include comparative analysis of Neo-Marxist and New Institutionalist paradigms. Up-to-date case studies are introduced to provide contemporary analysis against theoretical backdrop.
